What do you find mysterious?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 16, 2008:

How easily we human begins tend to create borders between each other as a way of feeling superior. We categorize people based off of religion, gender, age, race, sexual orientation, dis/ability status, class, and countless other things, and these categorizations create a very concrete "us" versus "them" frame of mind that causes much more harm than good. This division between otherwise similar people is what fuels discrimination, hatred and wars. It's up to us to notice when we create boundaries between ourselves and others, and realize that these "boundaries" probably don't exist. Class, race and even gender to some extent is entirely culturally constructed and shouldn't represent a person's identity. We must learn from the past and try to abolish this tendency within ourselves.

Have a mysteriously joyful day,
jenna
