This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 27, 2008:
I am so grateful for this woman named Anna who I just met the other day. We never knew each other until we met at a bus stop, waiting for our late bus to arrive, and we had the most beautiful conversation together. During our hour-long bus ride home, Anna definitely made me feel welcome with her openness, friendliness and kindness. She's an incredible woman, and during our hour-long bus ride home we chatted about grief, loss, life, love, connections with people, family, living in America, loneliness, children, happiness and all kinds of things. One story she sahred that stuck with me was about her grandmother praying for the souls of people in purgatory. Although I don't share her specific relgious views, I found this action of hers to be absolutely beautiful and inspiring. :)
Anna's kindness not only made me feel welcome, she inspired me as well with her kindness. I love making connections with new people, and I really hope that I will be lucky enough to meet her again later in my life. When we said our goodbyes, she wished me luck with all my dreams, and said that she'd pray for my successes. That meant a lot.
So wherever this amazing woman is, I wish her the best. I am so grateful for our long, deep conversation last Friday, and I hope the absolute best for her.
I love the power of conversations, don't you? :)
